What Goes on Behind the Computer Screen?

The internet is one of society's biggest technological advancements. Everything you would want to know is at your disposal with just the click of the mouse, no matter where the information is coming from. But one problem with this is, you never quite know what's happening on that other side.

Take MSN as an example. One person talks to another via msn messenger and unless they've put their webcam on, they can't see what the other person is doing. Say you've been chatting to someone for an hour or so and now you're doing something else while you wait for the other person to reply. Then before you know it, half an hour has passed and still no reply. You wonder, "What's happened to them that's kept them from replying for so long?"

Theories:
1) Their MSN has stuffed up and none of their mesages are getting to you.
2) YOUR MSN ahs stuffed up and technically you're not even online anymore.
3) They're IGNORING you
4) They have fallen asleep/in a coman/died/been rushed to the hospital mid reply, thereby not being able to click 'send'

Now. They're all plausible reason for the non replies and frankly, I don't really care about them. I didn't make this post to talk about those. I came to talk about THIS reason.

-: While you were busily playing your game/surfing the net, the other person has BEEN IN THE TOILET

When you think about it, that's just downright rude. But I'm not gonna be judgmental (or am I?), We've all done it before ... right? But for half an hour? C'mon! If you started talking to someone face to face would you want them to leave and go the toilet mid conversation?

Person 1: Hi! How was your day?
Person 2: It was fine. Did you hear about what happened the other day?
P1: No! What happened?
*person starts walking away*
P1: Umm ... where are you going? Hmm ..

TEN MINUTES LATER

P2: Well I heard that yesterday so and so did this! What do you think?

Man ... YOU DON'T JUST GO TO THE TOILET, COME BACK AND CONTINUE THE CONVERSATION! You don't do that in real life, DO YOU!? The worst bit of that happening on MSN is that the other person on the other end doesn't know a thing. They don't know about the dirty deeds you've been up to between replies.

So now its out. Oh yes ... you're not gonna get away with it! All you toilet goers have been EXPOSED!
