...well sorta. I borrowed it from my school. One day I just went up to the laptop lady and was like, "Yo, bitch where my laptop at?" and she gave me one.
Nah, just kidding. I asked my IPT teacher whether she could ask the principal to give me a laptop and the rest is history. So now I have a Macbook, all for free, for me to use :)
Funny how life works doesn't it?
One thing I've found about this laptop is that you can talk to it. Yes, that's right, just tell it what to do and it'll do it for you :)
'Twas serendipity that helped me find speech commands. I was looking through all the system preferences and there was this optioni called speech. So I ticked the box and this information panel thing popped up telling me how to use it. Hesitantly, I followed what it said. I held the 'Esc' key then said to the computer - "What time is it?"
It replied with - "It is 11:03"
HOW COOL IS THAT!?
Over the next hour or so, I sat in front of the laptop opening applications, closing windows and checking the time - all with the power of my voice! :D
It can even tell jokes!
Mac: Knock knock
Me: Who's there?
Mac: Turnip
Me: Turnip who?
Mac: Turnip the heat, it's cold in here!
HAHAHAHHAHAHA! Smart, isn't it? You know what? I think me and Mac are gonna get along juuuuussst fine!
